Charity for Charity: Charity for Charity is a non-profit organization raising funds to fulfill the wishes of local residents with special needs whether it medical, financial or other. The board of directors is made up of friends, all volunteering 100% to make a difference in their community. Each year, Charity for Charity selects an adult and a child as its beneficiaries and grants their wish at the big event in the beginning of each year, Stars of the Valley Awards Party and Benefit! What’s special about this organization is not only the fact that it’s collaborated by a group of girlfriends, but that they focus on INDIVIDUALS and making a difference, one person at a time. Charity for Charity throws 3 events a year to raise funds; Stars of the Valley, “THE BIG ONE”… a Golden Globes style event, granting wishes to its beneficiaries, in person and awarding individuals from the community who have been nominated by their peers in personal categories such as Fashionista, World Traveler, etc. Rynoland Expo, a day out at Rynoland, retired motocross racer, Ryan Hughes personal training facility, where people purchase tickets to watch an expo by professional motorcyclist and have the opportunity to win a meet and greet with the riders. Ladies Luxury Day, a day for the ladies to relax and enjoy “girl stuff” with everything from mini facial, eyebrow threading, hair styles, etc. There are also vendors selling jewelry, robes, boutique clothes and more! Today, into Charity for Charity’s third year, we have raised over $50,000 to fulfill wishes of selected benefactors. Charity Presifilippo, Jennifer Hughes, Karen LaPoint, Michelle Haywood, Gina Vitamanti and Brenda Bentivengo came together three years ago as a group of friends to help raise money for a friend of Charity’s who had been stricken with a rare form of spinal cancer. Charity had a vision of creating an awards party. Charity combined her love for Hollywood, Red Carpets and award ceremonies with her desire to help a friend. The girls all came together to help and the vision became a reality. Thus, the “Stars of the Valley Awards Party and Benefit” was born. Charity for Charity now selects beneficiaries by applications each year. Chosen benefactors must be from the Temecula Valley. Charity for Charity continues to grow and our ultimate goal is to be able to give back to our community throughout the year as needs arise. Charity has a large network of friends and colleagues in the Valley and feels that this community is the best in the world! Knowing this, inspired her to reach out and help a dear friend who was diagnosed with a rare cancer found inside of his spinal cord. As a party coordinator by nature, she had always wanted to throw a red carpet awards party. She put 2 and 2 together and created an event unlike any other! Having locals nominate each other in 23 different "personal" categories such as "Fashionista", "World Traveler", "Wine - O", "Magnetic", etc. Once the nominations were in, all the invited guests went back on the website to vote for the top 5 out of each category. The winners were announced at Stars of the Valley Awards Party and Benefit. It was a night to remember with entertainment, sentimental video clips, presenters, winners and even commercial breaks! The event was such a success that it inspired Charity to do it every year selecting a new beneficiary each year! Charity Prestifilippo has lived in the Temecula Valley since 1979. This valley has grown hand and hand with Charity as she's gone to school here, worked for several businesses in town and now is married, raising 2 boys and working with her husband to run 4 businesses.
